Another Metaphor

There is this trail I always run.

One day, a few winters ago, a giant fir tree fell.

For a few months, I had to climb over it.

Then, some people, like me, formed a clumsy path around it.

Years passed.

Pain happened.

Obstacles were overcome.

The other day, I ran the trail in my woods where the tree had fallen

It meanders closer to the river now.

The trail is more interesting

…Because that tree fell.

We would never have known a new path

If we hadn’t been rerouted.

As for you, if you discover a giant tree has fallen in your forest,

Continue your journey.

Climb over it or find a path around it.

 Strength will find you.

And a new trail will form.

It may be clumsy at first, but it will give you a different view.

You may discover beauty otherwise missed.

Without the falling,

There can be no rising.

And you my friend, will rise.

You will find a path.

Your run is not yet over.
